This is my frustration with NTFS permission i have server 2008 r2 my clients are all windows 7. The objective is to deny a group from deleting files/ folder and prevent them from adding folders in the sub-directory but they are allowed to add data to ms word and excel files (version office pro 2010). In the advanced share option i enable said group to have change permission from there i list the group in the security options and check boxes from read and execute all the way to allow write have been checked. I then enter the special permission leave all default and i deny deletion options. i then test as testuser1 to add a file then modify as testuser2. the problem is that i am told that i dont have permission to edit the file. I am wondering if NTFS permission needs a fix coz I believe I've tried configuring the permission almost every way to acquire the desired result but i just wont work.
I am in desperate need of some assistance
