DFS Access Issues

I'm having problems with a DFS Namespace I'm trying to deploy.

DFS Servers are 2003 R2 Virtual Servers running on a 2008 R2 Server cluster. DFS Namespace is domain based.

Clients OS: Windows Vista, XP Pro (SP3), 7 Ultimate x64 (my box)
DC OS: 2003R2, 2003, 2008R2 (I'm planning to retire the 2003R2 and upgrade the 2003 to R2); The 2003 box is a branded HP Server so retiring it early is out of the question (cost-wise!)

Namespace: Accounting
DFS Folder Path (local machine): e:\Accounting (I didn't bother with c:\DFSRoot and create folder targets)
Share Permissions: Everyone FC
NTFS Permissions: Per AD Groups

Path: \\DOMAIN\Accounting\SubFolder

For simplicity sake I'm not using Folder Targets for this one. I'm just going to drop the files into the shared folder. Everything went swimmingly when I did the migration yesterday. Basically, all I did was to change the mappings from each client and just made them point to the DFS Shares.

However, today I got deluged with strange activities:

a. 3 of the WinXP boxes had "Network resource inaccessible" errors
b. 1 of the WinXP boxes, upon accessing the mapping got a blank screen (i.e. no files, even though permissions are ok)
c. The Vista box and 2 XP Boxes had no problems at all.
d. Win 7 -- no problem. Full access as mere mortal (i.e. not Administrator)

Any advice/comments/help appreciated.
