Defaulting sdelete instead of delete on an OS-level?

Hi folks.

From several standpoints it would be incredible if there was a way to force Windows to use sdelete rather than its own internal file deletion mechanisms to zero out data.

  1. Thin provisioned VHDs: No idea about HyperV, but VMware cannot reclaim thin provisioned space from a guest unless it's zeroed out.  Once zeroed out, the esxcli unmap command can reclaim it on a storage level.
  2. Security: Speaks for itself.  A bit paranoid with limited increases, but hey, "why not"?  Nobody can complain about an option for increased security, even a marginal one.

I absolutely recognize that means one must be certain they want to delete a file, but that's what backups are for.

Thoughts?  Where would one go to submit a feature request to Microsoft if this is not presently possible?
