NFS Sharing and windows sharing on windows 2008R2

Dear All,

I am new to this forum. I have a question on NFS sharing and windows sharing on windows 2008 R2. Let me detail out my exact scenario.

In windows 2008 R2, I have nfs sharing (E:\att) and mounted into Solaris machine as (mpawin36:/att ->  /appl/att),  I have no problem for unix to read and write a file. I have also done normal windows sharing as (share name : HR_OUT -> E:\att\OUT\HR) and provided read and rw access to domain users.

when users are placing the file, there is no problem for unix to read the file and process. But whenever unix is writing file, the domain users cannot even read the file from windows share though users are provided with read access to folder (E:\att\OUT\HR), looks like when unix writes a file, the parent permission is lost on files.

I would like to know if there is any solution to address this issue.

Can I implement any group policy to enforce the permission of the folders and files irrespective of who is placing the file inside?

or any other appropriate solution to address this issue would be highly appreciated.

Please let me know If i have not made my point clear anywhere.

Regards

Vel
